Schedule a DEXA scan today and feel more informed about your body
Sometimes. It’s hard to feel comfortable about your own body. At a point, I couldn’t say what it felt like feeling good about yourself. At least, that was it! But after getting the DEXA scan yesterday, I woke up this morning feeling “different” in a positive way. Surely, it's been a long time.

About a decade ago, I had my first DEXA scan. Looking back, it’s obvious I was not well informed or had knowledge about some of the information resulting from DEXA scan. But what really ignited my interest? Well. I’d say because I’m in my 30s now. It wasn’t the same a decade ago. In the past, it used to be about weight and now, I just realized that its way more than that. There are other points and factors when we talk about health.
Thanks to the data I received from the DEXA Scan, I was previewed to the amount of fat tissue, the lean tissue, the weight of the muscles on both sides of your body, and of course, my bone density. The data made me realize that I’ve been making the right choices. Living the way, I’m supposed to.
One factor that stood out for me was the fact that according to research, the volume of fat that needs to be in the organs needs to be below 1lb. Hey! I have .31lb. That’s way lower than what you’d expect. Yay! I made another discovery, it was about my bone density. I had a z-score that was way off the chart! The usual score for an average person is 2.0 to 2.5, guess what mine was… 2.8 – Cool, right? That got me jumping!
I’m currently recovering from 2 spinal injuries since 2013. As I speak to you, I’m still looking for that perfect fitness routine that won’t just keep me fit but also inspire me while at that. My path to recovery hasn’t been a smooth one. With strenuous exercise comes great discomfort. That is how it is to me now. I’ve been forced by my own pain to get a qualitative approach to my fitness level, emphasizing more on the ones that have to do with stretching. All I’m trying to say is that I’m currently not “zealous” about the weight numbers. But hey! trust me… I’ve been holding on, even if my body won’t let me.
It is safe to say at this point, that all of the point that I’ve been trying to make all this while boils down to one thing. And that is making sure we get the right feedback and more accessibility to modern facilities, all of which would give us a more efficient routine. It will also provide us with more options, more than we could ever imagine. Just think about it!
